Storytelling with Interactive AI Support

Purpose

This assignment helps students build foundational language skills by telling a story about personal life and routine activities. Students will practice frequently used expressions, create simple sentences, and use verbs in appropriate tenses across time frames.

Learning Outcomes

Instructions

  1. Complete the Story:

    • Fill in the blanks in Carmen’s story of her overseas trip by choosing the correct verb and tense.
    • Ensure that all sentences flow logically and align with the narrative context.
  2. Use AI Tools for Practice:

    • Utilize tools like Grammarly or Google Translate to check spelling and verb conjugations before submitting.
    • Include a written statement of compliance confirming you did not use AI to generate the content directly but only as practice support.
  3. Submit Your Work:

    • Complete the story on the interactive platform (e.g., H5P) provided.
    • Ensure proper use of grammar and accurate application of time frames.

Grading Criteria

  • Accuracy: Correct use of verbs and tenses (40%)
  • Clarity and Coherence: Logical flow of the narrative (30%)
  • Use of Resources: Evidence of engagement with course tutorials and AI tools for practice (20%)
  • Compliance Statement: Submission includes the required statement (10%)
